This combination of our tours AH29 and AH11 is for those that don’t have too much time but still want to make the most of their stay. We start by visiting The Blue Lagoon, a unique geothermal spa where guests enjoy relaxing in warm geothermal seawater surrounded by magical lava field and black sandy beaches.
The geothermal seawater is led directly to the Blue Lagoon from wells as deep as 2000 meters/6000 feet and the water stays warm and inviting at 36-39°/100-110°F. The Blue Lagoon’s warm water and natural active ingredients; mineral salts, silica and blue green algae help you relax and escape the stress and strain of daily life. After the bath we head for the countryside to the National Park at Þingvellir, where the Icelandic parliament Alþingi was established in 930 and in August 2004 was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. We continue our journey to the geothermal area Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall. Next we make a short photo stop at Kerið which is an immensely powerful old explosion crater. The trip then proceeds to Hveragerði town, a horticultural area where geothermal energy has been harnessed to create unique greenhouse cultivation. Although this tour is an “express” tour, you will be visiting some of the very best known historical sites and natural phenomena in the country.
