NOTICE

Smyril Line announced on Thursday November 6th that their scheduled sailings to Scrabster and Bergen in 2009 are CANCELLED with immediate effect and the service discontinued.

At the moment there is consequently no practical means of reaching Iceland by ferry from mainland UK, although there may be limited options available when Smyril Line publishes its revised sailing schedule in due course.

As of today’s posting [November 10th] we have no indication when this might be, so are unable to shed any more light on the situation. Please re-visit our web site www.scantours.co.uk/smyril  from time to time where we will provide updated information as it becomes available.

Please note however that any POSSIBLE alternative would need to utilize DFDS’s service from Harwich to Esbjerg for the first and last legs and THERE WILL BE NO SAILINGS BY THE NORRONA FROM MAINLAND UK.
