CAPITALS AND FJORD HIGHLIGHTS

Enjoy the contrast between über-cool Copenhagen and the age old Viking Capital Oslo; cruise overnight along the Kattegat and chill out along the Sogne, Norway’s longest fjord. Ride on the rail line that takes you literally across the mountain roof of Norway and round off your trip with a night in Hanseatic Bergen. If you fancy a night extra along the way then we can just add it in where and when you please.
DAY 1 UK-COPENHAGEN Scheduled SAS flight to Copenhagen, self-transfer to Hotel Ibsen for two nights.
DAY 2 COPENHAGEN Day at leisure. Excursion options: Canal tour: Lousiana Art Museum.
DAY 3 COPENHAGEN-OSLO Morning and lunchtime at leisure before early afternoon departure to Oslo on the ‘King of Scandinavia’ cruise ferry. On board accommodation in twin outside cabin with private WC/shower.
DAY 4 OSLO Early morning arrival, self-transfer to Hotel Byporten. Day at leisure. Excursion option: Hop on-Hop off sightseeing by bus including the Vigeland Sculpture Park and Viking Ship Museum.
DAY 5 OSLO-SOGNEFJORD Morning departure by train across Norway’s mountain plateau to Myrdal; then by mountain railway down the Flåm Valley; ferry along the Aurlandfjord and across the Sognefjord to Balestrand. Transfer to Midtnes Pension for two nights.
DAY 6 SOGNEFJORD Day at leisure. Excursion option: Cruise to the Norwegian Glacier Museum and Fjaerland Glacier.
DAY 7 BALESTRAND-BERGEN Morning departure by express ferry out to sea and along the coast to Bergen, self-transfer to (minutes along the quayside) and overnight at Hotel Strand. Afternoon at leisure. Excursion option: Mount Fløyen by cable car.
DAY 8 BERGEN-UK Morning and early afternoon at leisure. Excursion options: Walking tour of Bryggen: Edvard Grieg Museum. Early afternoon departure for return flight(s) to the UK.
