HOLIDAYS TO RUSSIA

ST PETERSBURG TO MOSCOW
A RUSSIAN RIVER CRUISE
11 days from £1185 pp

Explore Russia’s two great cities sailing between them along a network of canals, rivers and lakes in the comfort and security of a specially adapted river cruiser. Enjoy a programme of cultural events on board ship as well as a full range of shore excursions, including visits to Red Square, the Kremlin, the fairytale island of Kizhi, the Tzar’s Winter Palace and many more. An ideal way to discover Russia.

MS KROHNSTADT

German built specifically for river cruising and completely renovated and refurbished in 2005, the Krohnstadt is today one of the best ships on Russia’s waterways. Passenger numbers are restricted to 250 so with 100 crew, including medical staff, standards of service match the best. Facilities include a restaurant, three bars, conference hall, souvenir shop, library, hairdressing salon and cinema. Your accommodation is in outside cabins with private WC/shower, fridge, radio and air conditioning.

A RUSSIAN EXPERIENCE

Whilst on board the Krohnstadt, there is a continuous programme of entertainment, including music and dance provided by some of Russia and the Ukraine’s most famous entertainers; special concerts and events on an optional basis; culinary afternoons – the ‘Blinis’ caviar and champagne party is not to be missed – and excursions ashore to out of the way places. An English speaking guide is on hand throughout your river cruise to advise and assist you at all times.

TWO IMPERIAL CITIES

Moscow, Russia’s Imperial Capital is dominated by its spiritual heart, St Basil’s Cathedral and its temporal one, the Kremlin. The city disgorges treasure upon treasure from the drama of Red Square to Lenin’s Mausoleum; Sparrow Hills to the Novodevichy Convent: even the Metro Stations with their lavish marble halls, intricate mosaics and chandeliers are like palaces.

St. Petersburg is a captivating cocktail of experiences. Here you will find the Hermitage Museum, Winter Palace, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, Yusupov Palace and Rusputin rooms. For students of history, there is also the Cruiser Aurora from which, in 1917, the signal was given to start the Revolution.
