Explore the natural beauty of Swedish Lapland and learn of the traditional Lapp culture on this carefully tailored tour starting in Stockholm and then travelling across the Arctic Circle on Sweden’s famous Inlandsbanan inland railway. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to contrast Stockholm’s sophistication with the rugged beauty of Sweden’s Northern provinces.
Day 1 UK-STOCKHOLM Scheduled SAS flight from UK to Stockholm. Overnight at Hotel Nordic Sea.
Day 2 STOCKHOLM-MORA Departure with regular train to Mora C. Transfer and overnight at Hotel Mora & SPA.
Day 3 MORA - ÖSTERSUND Experience Mora and the Lake Siljan during the day, for example Vasalopps Museum, Zorngården, Dala horse manufacturing in Nusnäs. Afternoon departure with Inlandsbanan from Mora to Östersund. Overnight at Radisson SAS Hotel Östersund for two nights.
Day 4 ÖSTERSUND During the day there will be time for see Östersund and surroundings. Entrance to Jamtli Museum in Östersund.
Day 5 ÖSTERSUND - SLAGNÄS Morning departure with Inlandsbanan from Östersund to Slagnäs. Bus transfer to Båtsuoj Sámi Centre. Here we meet the Sámi culture, see reindeer and eat a typical Sámi dinner. Transfer to Arjeplog. Overnight at Hotel Lyktan in Arjeplog.
Day 6 ARVIDSJAUR – JOKKMOKK After breakfast there will be a guided walk, with the emphasis on Arjeplog’s exciting history. Entrance to the Silver Museum, with lunch in a bar/restaurant in Arjeplog. Bus to Arvidsjaur. Afternoon departure with Inlandsbanan to the Arctic Circle. We make a photo stop at the Arctic Circle. Then continue to Jokkmokk. Overnight at Hotel Jokkmokk.
Day 7 JOKKMOKK - GÄLLIVARE Breakfast and check out from the hotel. Entrance in Ajtte Sámi Museum and Mountain Garden. Evening departure from Jokkmokk to Gällivare. Overnight stay at Grand Hotel Lapland.
Day 8 GÄLLIVARE-UK Morning departure with regular train from Gällivare to Kiruna. Transfer to Kiruna airport and scheduled SAS flight to the UK via Stockholm.
