Follow Iceland’s Ring Road for a tour of all its main and spectacular attractions in just 9 days: the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, the East Fjords, the volcanic landscape of Lake Myvatn, the Golden Waterfall, the Blue Lagoon and more are just some of the spectacular sights you will see.
DAY 1 UK – REYKJAVÍK Scheduled Icelandair flight to Reykjavik. Transfer on arrival to and overnight at Hotel Leifur Eiríksson.
DAY 2 SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA Meet your guide and follow travellers and leave the city leaving westwards. Scenic Highlights; Snæfellsnes National Park and the glacier; small fishing villages; lava fields; black sand beaches; Stykkishólmur. Accommodation and dinner in the Borgarfjörður area.
DAY 3 BORGARFJÖRÐUR – ÞINGEYJARSÝLA Scenic Highlights; Waterfalls at Hraunfossar; Skagafjorður and Eyjafjörður; Akureyri, the capital of the north. Accommodation and dinner in Þingeyjarýsla for two nights.
DAY 4 HÚSAVIK WHALE WATCHING – LAKE MÝVATN Scenic Highlights; 3 – 4 hours Whale watching cruise from Húsavik; Goðafoss Waterfall; Lake Mývatn; Dimmuborgir lava fields.
DAY 5 ÞINGEYJARSYLA – FLJÓTSDALSHÉRAÐ Scenic Highlights; the volcanic activity at Krafla; the geothermal area of Námaskarð; Dettifoss waterfall; uninhabited highlands. Accommodation and dinner in the Egilsstaðir area.
DAY 6 EGILSSTAÐIR – VATNAJÖKULL Scenic Highlights; Vatnajökull, Europe’s biggest glacier; Boat trip on the glacial lagoon (payable locally). Accommodation and dinner in the Vatnajökull area.
DAY 7 SKAFTAFELL NATIONAL PARK – THE SOUTH COAST Scenic Highlights; Visit to the National Park; the South Coast. Accommodation and dinner in the Rangárvallasýsla area.
DAY 8 GULLFOSS – GEYSIR – ÞINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK Scenic Highlights; Introduction to the Icelandic horse; Gullfoss waterfall; Geysir; Þingvellir National Park and the Viking parliament area. Overnight at Hotel Leifur Eiríksson.
DAY 9 REYKJAVIK – UK Morning at leisure. Transfer to Keflavik airport. Scheduled Icelandair flight to UK.
