SVINOYA RORBUER  AA1901

Originally fisherman’s huts, Svinoya’s collection of 30 or so ‘Rorbu’ cabins have been painstakingly restored, or rebuilt using reclaimed timber, to provide some really ‘atmospheric’ accommodation at the water’s edge in the heart of Svolvaer’s fishing community. Each cabin has beds for up to 6 and a modern bathroom with private WC/shower. Nearby, one of the old warehouses has been similarly renovated and now hosts a lovely little restaurant turning out home cooked traditional fish dishes.

VESTFJORD HOTELL  AA1902

Right on the waterfront, the hotel’s rooms are larger than average and have either a mountain or ocean view. Recently upgraded and refurbished in a modern Scandinavian style with echoes of traditionalism demonstrated by the use of wood and cantilevered ceilings, all rooms have private WC/shower, radio & TV. The whale spotting safari ship leaves from the quayside adjacent to the hotel.
